Xiaoyan WU is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English, School of Foreign Languages, Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU).

She holds a Ph.D. Diploma in Western Literal and Cultural Criticism and a Master's degree of English Linguistics and Literature. She was a visiting scholar in the City University of Hong Kong (2005-2006) and worked as the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute of Autonomous University of Yucatan, Mexico (2009-2012). Currently she is also the Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Sun Yat-sen University and Director of the Office for International Students' Affairs.
