Last updated:2013-10-08

Led by Secretary Xu Dongli of the School of Foreign Languages (FLS), the FLS alumni relations work team recently paid visits to alumni in Hong Kong and Macau.
On September 24, a reunion of FLS alumni in Hong Kong was held, gathering about 30 alumni ranging from students who were enrolled in SYSU in the 1950s to those who graduated just three months ago. Secretary Xu Dongli extended cordial greetings from Dean Chang Chenguang, the faculty and students of FLS. She then introduced the upcoming celebration of the 90th anniversary of the foreign language discipline in FLS, and invited all alumni back to join and witness this exciting moment. The alumni expressed their gratitude to the alma mater and willingness to participate in the event. It was a touching scene when alumni of different ages were talking with one another. With collective efforts of the Hong Kong alumni and FLS, the Hong Kong Chapter of FLS Alumni Association was established. Mr. Zhou Zongzhe (English Major, enrolled in 1956), was named honorary president, Mr. Yu Yangfan (English Major, enrolled in 1978) the president, and Ms. Fan Haishan (German Major, enrolled in 1992) the secretary-general.

On September 26, the team visited University of Macau, meeting Yang Xiuling, Zhang Meifang and other alumni, and conducting exchanges on talent introduction, faculty construction and administration affairs.
